Samdech Techo Hun Sen visits the Meun Chey International Border Gate in Meun Chey Village, Krabao Commune, Kamchay Mer District, Prey Veng Province
On the morning of July 2, 2025, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, visited the Meun Chey International Border Gate in Meun Chey Village, Krabao Commune, Kamchay Mer District, Prey Veng Province.
According to the report, this is the headquarters of the Meun Chey-Tin Nam (Cambodia-Vietnam) International Border Gate, which was originally a corridor where people living on both sides often exchanged goods and agricultural products. In 2010, the Royal Government of Cambodia established the Meun Chey Border Gate. On April 30, 2014, the Royal Government of Cambodia decided to upgrade the Meun Chey Border Gate to the “Meun Chey International Border Gate” according to Letter No. 635 S.C.N. of the Council of Ministers.
The Vietnamese side agreed to upgrade the Ten Nam border gate to the “Ten Nam International Border Gate” on October 18, 2017. The Meun Chey-Ten Nam International Border Gate (Cambodia-Vietnam) was temporarily inaugurated at the provincial level, Prey Veng province, Tay Ninh province, on May 31, 2021.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his high appreciation to the authorities for their efforts to build this international gate, and through the Meun Chey International Gate, it has made a significant contribution to the exchange of goods between the two countries, especially agricultural products of the people living along the border of the two countries. Samdech Techo also urged the authorities to strive to transform this border area into a safe and peaceful border, a border for the exchange of goods and a border with development and progress for the livelihood of the people of the two countries.
It is worth noting that Prey Veng province plans to hold a meeting to discuss with the authorities of Tay Ninh province about the official inauguration of the Meun Chey-Ten Nam International Border Gate, which will be held by the leaders of the two countries. The gate has a total area of 89,577 square meters, having resolved the impacts for stakeholders in 2020 and prepared the following infrastructure:
1 temporary entrance and exit building, size 45×7.3 meters, equivalent to 6 rooms, built in 2019. 1 Angkor Wat temple gate, length 22.4 meters, height 17 meters, built in 2020. 2 solid entrance and exit buildings, one of which is 44×15 meters, equivalent to 14 rooms, built in 2020.
