Youth for Environmental Sustainability Movement Continues Fight Against Plastic Pollution

Phnom Penh – Under the guidance of H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, the Youth for Environmental Sustainability and Cleanliness Movement of the Cambodia Environmental Sustainability Organization has continued its efforts to collect and pack plastic waste along roadsides to combat plastic pollution. The goal is to promote cleanliness, eliminate plastic litter, and foster a movement and mindset among youth to love and protect the environment, ultimately contributing to the health of the people. This recent activity took place in Tuol Pongro Village, Chaom Chao I Sangkat, Por Senchey District, Phnom Penh, on the morning of June 22, 2025.

In line with the “Clean Cambodia – Khmers Can Do It” campaign, this movement aims to instill environmental awareness and responsibility in students, youth, and young women by encouraging proper waste disposal, cleaning efforts, and plastic waste collection and packaging along the roads.

It is important to note that the activity in the above-mentioned village and sangkat involved approximately 11 participants, all of whom are youth volunteers with a strong passion for environmental cleanliness.

Finally, the Youth for Environmental Sustainability group calls on all citizens and young people to join in properly disposing of waste and to take part in fighting against plastic pollution.
