H.E. Ngov Borina Leads Citizens in Tree Planting in Damril Commune
Tboung Khmum – His Excellency Ngov Borina, Secretary of State and high representative of H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, led a group of over 100 participants—including civil servants, local residents, and students—in a tree planting activity along a water canal in Damril Commune, Ou Reang Ov District, Tboung Khmum Province.
This tree planting event, held on the morning of June 24, 2025, was part of the “Green Sprout” campaign, which promotes grassroots tree planting in public spaces and degraded areas. The aim is to expand green coverage and absorb carbon emissions in Cambodia.
With a spirit dedicated to a green and sustainable environment, H.E. Ngov Borina emphasized that everyone must join together to protect Cambodia’s environment by participating in all campaigns led by the Ministry of Environment—especially those that enhance cleanliness, greenery, and sustainability—with the ultimate goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
H.E. further stated that the Ministry of Environment, along with its branches in all capitals and provinces, will provide or distribute free tree saplings to citizens for planting. Additionally, he called on fellow citizens, students, teachers, and civil servants to actively plant as many trees as possible in the upcoming rainy season.
