His Excellency General Vong Pisen: Cambodia loves peace and hates war, but Cambodia will not retreat in case of enemy aggression
(Kampong Speu): His Excellency General Vong Pisen said, “Cambodia loves peace and hates war, but Cambodia will not retreat in case of enemy aggression.” The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces are ready to fight 24 hours a day, 24 hours a day, according to the orders of the Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defense, without hesitation in sacrificing their lives to protect the motherland. This statement by His Excellency General Vong Pisen, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, was made on the occasion of presiding over the opening ceremony of the advanced training course for first-generation ground officers at the Combined Forces Command Institute on the afternoon of June 27, 2025.
In front of the entire ceremony, HE the General highlighted the incident of the Thai army’s attack on Cambodian troops on the morning of May 28 at the Mom 3 border point in Preah Vihear province, which resulted in the death of one Cambodian soldier, which was a provocative act by the Thai army to invade Cambodia.
HE the General added that despite such incidents, Samdech Thet Thip Dei Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Cambodia, expressed his desire to resolve the border issue peacefully and based on international law, and that Cambodia also reserves the right to defend its territorial integrity by all means if there is an invasion of Cambodian territory.
HE the General Vong Pisen highlighted the decision of the Royal Government of Cambodia to file a complaint with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague, Netherlands, on June 15, 2025, to help adjudicate the dispute with Thailand over the Ta Moan Thom Temple, Ta Moan Toch Temple, Ta Krabey Temple, and the Mom 3 area.
His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief stated that the selection of the International Court of Justice mechanism is a continuous and determined process of the Royal Government, in line with the will of the people, for a just, accurate and clear border line with neighboring countries for future generations.
His Excellency affirmed the full support of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces for the actions of the Royal Government of Cambodia in resolving border disputes in accordance with international law and peacefully. At the same time, it is ready to fight according to the orders of the Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defense, without hesitation in sacrificing its own flesh and blood to defend the homeland at any cost.
His Excellency the Commander-in-Chief instructed all trainees to put all their strength and energy into overcoming all difficulties in training, absorb the content of the lessons to gain both knowledge and practical skills, and to understand the experiences they have experienced in the past to increase their understanding and move forward to fulfill their national defense duties with high efficiency.
